MoCo Loco: Dutch Design Week 2008 - Testlab by Jo Meesters

Studio Jo Meesters presented Testlab during Dutch Design Week, a group of furniture prototypes created by using discarded materials, again highlighting the studio’s focus on sustainability. Work in the Testlab, the Odds and Ends, Bits and Pieces collection, included jars made out of paper and shelving, seating and a bed made from 16 leftover blankets and 34 discarded wooden beams.

This surprising switch Table Chair is made by Ellesco International and was designed by the Belgian Designer Ellen Ector. Originally conceived as one of Ectors’ school projects at the High school Sint-Luk in Brussels, the design landed her a job at Ellesco, the company now manufacturing the SwiTCh.
